I'm a freelance journalist in the San Francisco Bay Area covering local politics, law enforcement, housing, migration, and the independent art scene. â€‹

I was previously a staff writer for the Vallejo Times-Herald and Vacaville Reporter. Additionally, I have written for publications affiliated with UC Davis and the Academy of Art University, as well as independent platforms like An Injustice Magazine and Prism & Pen, and the nonprofit Leonard-Litz Foundation. I’ve also edited online content for Tripadvisor, Crisis Text Line, and the Better Business Bureau.

I obtained a master's degree in mass communications from San Diego State University where I published my thesis. I received my bachelor's degree in film and video from Columbia College Chicago.  I grew up in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood and have lived in San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Boston, and Philadelphia. When I'm not working, I enjoy training with my running group, watching stand-up comedy, and reading nonfiction.
